Obama Inauguration

Thousands of people flooded the streets of Washington as millions of people across America stay tuned as Barack Obama takes his oath as the 44th US president. His inaugural speech challenges America to believe that in this winter of hardships, we should all be brave to endure more icy currents and storms.

If I were in Washington, I'm sure I'm one of those people who will be in the streets cheering for the new president. I found these brightly colored commemorative Obama Inauguration signs for just $9.99. These tall, full color coroplast signs are shipped within 24hours of purchase and they offer free 1st class USPS ground shipping. Do checkout obamainagurationsigns to get these commemorative signs.

Winchester Mystery House, San Jose, CA

The Winchester Mystery House is located in San Jose, CA. Last December, me and our family friends went there for a different kind of fun. At first I thought I will be boring but when we started the tour, it was pretty informative and creepy. Haha. Imagine a house with 160 rooms, tons of stairs, detours, and deadends. Not to mention that we went there during winter and the whole house was cold! The cold weather added to the eeriness of the place.

Ultimate Paintball

Although I have never liked guns especially keeping a gun inside the house, I have always wanted to try paintball. Back in Manila, my friends would tell me about how great their paintball matches went and how fun it was. Imagine being able to release stress from all the running, shooting and hiding. You can even practice your paintball sniper skills! This is one of those activities that could foster good camaraderie with your team and even your opponents. It's a good team building activity if I may say.

Of course you should be all geared-up if you decide to play paintball. Ultimate Paintball sells a huge variety of paintball gears. Be sure to check out their premium top selling paintball guns, stealth masks, nitro tank, deluxe paintball harness, jerk squeegee and a lot more. A lot of stuff are on sale in their website from the post Christmas special so be sure to check that one out.

Homesickness Strikes Back Part 2

This is how homesick I am...

Chowking goodies from Las Vegas. I haven't finished eating all of them because I was sort of eating them only when I couldn't stand homesickness anymore. Hahaha. *psycho!* A taste of real Pinoy food *yes, there are fake ones out there especially here in AZ where there's not much pinoys* every once in a while somehow alleviates the feeling of missing home. Awww.... I miss home. =(

I found this new toy for teambuilding exercises. I think this is what my Manila team needs instead of their usual "vacation" time during teambuilding activities. Haha.

The 50cent PPP

Is PPP in recession? I just thought about it because lately PPP has been offering blog opportunities priced at $0.50!!! Geeez! Just the mere fact that I am spending billable time blogging for paid opps, it's just not worth it. Especially if you know how much my hourly rate is! Hahaha. Well, if it does affect my blog ranking and increase traffic, then yeah, maybe it's worth writing about. Hayyy...

If I am not this bored at work, I will not be taking this 50cent opp! So yeah, that means I am soooooooo bored.

Vehicle Storage

If I get the client N project in Helsinki and ask me to be there for more than a month, I will be leaving Kimi here in Phoenix. So I guess I might need this... vehicle storage.

Speed Over All-Season Performance

I know that this blog is morphing into either a car blog or a food blog. Haha. Yes, these are just two of the things I am obsessing about lately. Couple of months ago, you would always see me frequenting ebay and watching bids for those prada handbags. But then nowadays, it's either the Lexus forum or TireRack.com. Yup... the prada bag obsession turned into automobile tires obsession. Hayyy... I know I am sort of weird.

Anyways, the main reason why I've been researching about tires is because Kimi's rear wheels need to be replaced pretty soon. Now that I found out that the new set of front tires that my dealership put on Kimi has really bad reviews *although they were the original set of tires for '03 IS300 Sportcross*, I've decided not to trust them with replacing my rear tires. So yeah, I am reviewing a couple of tires. *Geek!*

I am still debating if I should give up speed rating over performance. As you know, I live in the hot desert of Arizona but there are times that I wanted to go up north where it's snowing. Since Kimi's an RWD car and is currently using ultra-high performance summer tires, it's too risky to drive him in snow. So yeah, the idea of getting all-season tires is bugging me. But then, all-season tires do not come in Z-speed rating *meaning you can't go past 106 mph for an R-rating*. Yeah, that sucks! Sacrifice speed just to be able to drive in snow?

Cardfish: Personalize It!

Have you ever received a personalized ecard that calls you while you're opening it? I have received one and I find it oh-so cool! The creator of these personalized ecards is CardFish.com. You can choose from a wide variety of ecards to customize. Customization ranges from changing text or uploading photos. It is an exciting innovation from our usual greeting cards and messaging service. This interactive ecard is so fun to use especially when doing pranks to your friends. One of the sample cards that you can use is entitled "The Ring" which is actually the scary part of the horror movie "The Ring". For instance you send this ecard to your friend, the ecard will tell them not to answer their ringing phone. And then CardFish actually triggers a call to your friend's number while they're reading the card and when your friend answers the call, a voice will tell them they will die in 7 days. Hahaha. This is a funny prank to do to your friends.

Normally, cardfish charges an amount to the sender of the ecard but for a limited time, you can send ecards for FREE. When you're on the site, just enter the word FREE as the coupon code. Send as much ecards as you want and let your friends experience the cardfish phone call while they're reading your personalized ecard. I am sure it will be a funny experience for them.

UN-happy Eating

I gained 10lbs when I got back from my vacation in Manila October last year. And yes, I haven't lost that 10lbs after 3 months! In fact, I even gained more weight because I just enjoyed eating and bingeing. After 3 months of gluttony, I finally realized I should lose weight otherwise I will have to change my whole wardrobe and I cannot afford that! Presenting, my not so happy food for the week...

Yeah. I am back to eating rabbit food. =( I am just allowed to eat a bit of carbs every other day... yes, the binge day! But otherwise, I will be eating the UN-happy food for the week. My salad is made of iceberg lettuce, baby spinach, tomatoes, feta cheese and baked teriyaki chicken breast with a light asian sesame vinaigrette. Wow! That sounded something fancy! Hahaha.

Colorado Auto Collision Experts

I was driving on my way home the other day and from my rearview mirror, I saw this metallic black sedan with his headlights on. I knew this car looked familiar. I know that it's bad to not be attentive on the road when you're driving but this car really bothered me. It looked so nice from afar and when I stopped at the red light, the car stopped right beside. Guess what?! It was a 2008 BMW M3. I was never really a big fan of coupes (2-door) but the M3 coupe is definitely an exception! I so love this car and I am eyeing it to be my next car after Kimi.

Beauties like these deserve only the best maintenance. At Collision Repair Experts, you will get a list of reputable, professional and quality automotive collision repair shops in your area. The website is so easy to use. Just input your zip code to start the search function. Collision Repair Experts provide written lifetime warranty for their services, customer follow-up system, class A facilities and 10 years business experience. At collision repair, they will never compromise the quality of their work. Check out auto body shops colorado for a list of experts in that area.

The Coffee Room Buddy

Do you have a coffee room buddy? Someone whom you always see in the coffeebreak room and for some reason, you've never worked with directly in the office and you don't even know his name... haha. Yeah, I do have that buddy! He's an Indian guy whom I would guess is already Americanized *READ: no funky, disturbing smell* and we would see each other in the coffee room every morning. I never got his name. Seriously! I've been working here in the client's office for more than a year now and I don't even know the guy's name! Pathetic! But anyways, I think he's a top ranking manager here because he occupies one of the rooms in the manager lane area. Hayyyy... Our usual morning topic would be, what else... coffee!

A New Social Consumer Network Site

Acobay is a new networking site wherein you can find product reviews and you can post your own review. Of course, knowing my interest, I posted reviews on the Lexus category. What's great about this website is you're able to interact with the people who wrote the reviews and you can also post your own review about the same product. With their huge list of categories, from automobiles to food, to vacation spots to books. Name it, you can post a review of anything that interests you. Obviously, online social networking has already evolved into something that is not only fun but also helps consumers by providing reviews, references and valuable information about certain stuff. These are the kind of websites that we need. I just hope Acobay can maintain the good quality of reviews that they allow their users to post and I hope they will also set guidelines and rules on what kind of reviews their users are allowed to post. As a consumer myself, I would greatly appreciate honest and objective reviews. Acobay is an easy to use networking site that is a good mix of fun and informativeness. You can even add some stuff in your wishlist! Try it now and create an account at Acobay.

Starting the Travel Year in Sedona

Last weekend, 2 of my Cali friends came here in Arizona to visit me. Of course, where else can we go but Sedona!!! Talk about starting the year right, we took Kimi to a roadtrip up north. Check out the breathtaking photos of Sedona landscape.

There's another reason why I shared this Sedona weekend experience here... I almost ran over a DEER! Yup! That cute Bambi! We were running 60mph on a 55mph 2-lane road and then suddenly a deer attempts to cross the street right in front of us. Thank God I still had my Manila driver reflexes so I was able to step on the brakes just in time. Hayyy!!! It was scary! Imagine running over that poor little thing and hell knows what else could have happened. Still... how many times in a person's lifetime can this happen? Like 1 in a million! Too bad my passengers' cameras weren't ready so they weren't able to take a photo of Bambi getting stunned in front of us and seeing me almost kill him. This experience... Haaa... Priceless!

My New Favorite Kitchen Gadget

Here's my first attempt to cook kare-kare...

Not bad e? I used my "new-favorite-kitchen-gadget", the slow cooker! The night before I made the kare-kare, I boiled a pound of oxtail in my slow cooker. Just put the oxtail in the slow cooker then cover it with water then turn the slow cooker on. I used high heat for 4 hours and the oxtail meat was literally falling off the bones. The next day, I started cooking my kare-kare by sauteeing garlic and onions in a little oil then put in the oxtail meat. I added the oxtail broth then 1 pack of Mama Sita Kare-kare mix dissolved in a little oxtail broth. Simmer this for about 10 minutes then add the veggies. I added eggplant, long beans and bok choi. Add the unsweetened peanut butter then simmer for another 10 minutes or until the veggies are cooked. Season with salt and pepper. It wasn't as difficult nor complicated than what I initially thought! Don't even ask me about the measurements because I didn't measure anything. Haha.

So what makes a great kare-kare? I think it's the bagoong (shrimp paste)! Agree?!

A Product Review Website

For people like me who are addicted to reading product reviews before doing any purchase, you will definitely appreciate this website. HottestProducts.net is a website that does reviews on any product or service available on the internet. They have an extensive list of products ranging from astrology guides, casino games, health care and beauty, to leisure and sports guides, to travel guides, to PPC Advertising Guides, to writing opportunities, etc. Name the topic and they must have it. And by extensive list, they do mean it in every bit of the word. Their catalogued category list is so easy to use.

My worry whenever I read product reviews on the internet is that sometimes, these paid reviews are too biased since they obviously get paid to say something great about a specific product. Reading a couple of product reviews from this website is pretty much convincing. They provide an objective description of the product and their review comes with a reviewer rating of which 5 is the highest. And yes, I did find reviews not having a perfect 5 score! I guess every product review is relative depending on the knowledge of the reviewer and some other factors. Well, you have to check it out for yourself to find out how accurate and how reliable these reviews are.
